Ken Johnston, Vice Chancellor of administration services, explained that the funds for the purchase of the Park will consist of three separate sections. One-third of the Park will be paid by the city of Hammond, the other one-third by the PUC and one-third by donations. The process of getting Dowling Park is still being created, so set the price not yet determined. Johnston described the plans for renovation and improvements as the athletic master plan.
"The athletic master plan designed to help in getting a full understanding for the intercollegiate athletic teams and provide recreational areas in addition to the General student body," said Johnston.
The field at Dowling Park will be used by the PUC and the city of Hammond. PUC will have priority over the athletics for training and games while the city of Hammond will have access to the field during the season off. The field is meant to help further intercollegiate team PUC and stay connected with the city of Hammond.

This plan will increase recreational space so that the body of students has more room for sports recreation and intramural sports.
